Tomato Garlic Chutney | Chutney Varities

If you looking for easy and tangy chutney without onions to be prepared in a jiffy...this tomato garlic chutney is for you. This chutney stays good for even a weeks time. I am making this tomorrow with chappathi and puran poli for our travel in train to my parents home. Puran poli because we never eat without a sweet. :P

So,grabbing the shopping bag for some very ripe organic tomatoes.


TOMATO GARLIC CHUTNEY RECIPE

Preparation Time: 5 minutes Cooking Time: 8-10 minutes Serves: 2 
Ingredients:
Tomatoes - 6 deseeded , chopped finely
Garlic - 6 finely chopped
Oil - 2 tbsp

To Temper:
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Urad Dhal - 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp



Method of Preparation:
1. Heat oil in a iron skillet/pan, add the items to temper, then add garlic and saute well. Add the chopped tomatoes. 


2. Saute well in medium flame for 3-4 minutes, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt. Saute well until oil starts leaving the sides and tomato shrinks completely. 

Notes:
  • My mom makes the same chutney using gingelly oil and fennel seeds. 
  • Best tastes when made with ripe nattu tomatoes. 
  • Can be stored for a week.
