Another easy and restaurant style chicken starter recipe!!! its the famous tandoori chicken!! You don't need to have a tandoori oven to make this. Just use your microwave oven to good use with this recipe.
For people who are dieting like me, this recipe which uses very less oil is a big treat. It tasted so soft and juicy with a dip of chutney and crunchy onion. Do try the recipe and I am sure you will make it very often like me. To the recipe....
TANDOORI CHICKEN RECIPE

Ingredients:
Chicken - 2 big pieces
Oil - to brush
Marination Masala:
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Lemon Juice - 1/2 tsp
Hung Curd - 3/4 cup
Food Colour -red + orange - pinch (Optional)
Method of Preparation:
1. Clean the chicken pieces and keep aside. Let the water or any moisture dry out with a kitchen towel. Make deep incisions on the chicken like in the picture and keep aside.
2. Take a wide bowl. Prepare the marinate mixture with the above ingredients under "Marination Masala". Mix well to form a smooth paste. Coat the marinate in the chicken everywhere and also inside the incisions. Let it to marinate in room temperature for 4-6 hours so that the chicken pieces are infused with the marination flavours. Pre heat the convection oven at 220 degree C. Place the chicken pieces in the high rack and brush well with enough oil. Bake at convection mode at 220 degree C for 30 minutes(Check after 20 minutes or if its to brown fast). Turn over after the first 15 minutes to brush with oil and let it cook. It is optional to grill it for 5 minutes by flipping both sides.
Notes:

Notes:
- Use only hung curd. Reduce or increase the quantity of hung curd to the size of chicken pieces. It should not be a runny marinate mixture. The quantity should be just enough to coat the chicken pieces.
- If you are leaving to marinate overnight, put it in the fridge and bring the chicken pieces to room temperature before baking.
- You can make the recipe for chicken drumsticks too. Baking time varies, so check accordingly.
- You can also wrap the bone part with aluminium foil to prevent browning.
- I don't normally add food colour to any of my preparations, here I have just added a pinch, so the colour is not like restaurants served. Add food colour if you want.
