I am not a soup person, but my mom always makes varieties of soups and forces us to have. It is one of the soup which I can have some though it tastes delicious and of course the reason why I make them now is the health benefits of broccoli in our diet. Yes, I have not changed but I must tell you that the soup is absolutely delicious!!!
BROCCOLI SOUP RECIPE

Ingredients:
Broccoli - 1, small, florets
Milk - 2tbsp
Moong Dhal - 1/3 cup
Green Chilli - 1, slitted
Small Onion - 4-5
Garlic - 3
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Temper:
Ghee/Oil - 2 tsp
Fennel Seeds - 2 tsp
Method of Preparation:
Milk - 2tbsp
Moong Dhal - 1/3 cup
Green Chilli - 1, slitted
Small Onion - 4-5
Garlic - 3
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Temper:
Ghee/Oil - 2 tsp
Fennel Seeds - 2 tsp
Method of Preparation:
1. Soak moong dhall for 20 minutes or for the time you prepare broccoli. Cut the broccoli into small florets. Heat water (sufficient to boil broccoli) in a sauce pan, once it comes to boiling stage, add broccoli florets and leave it for 2 minutes. Remove, drain and rinse with running water. In a pressure cooker, add moong dhall, water, small onion, garlic, broccoli florets, green chilli and turmeric powder. Let it cook for 1 whistle and 5 minutes in simmer.
2. Don't overcook. Transfer to a vessel, add salt, milk. In a tadka pan, temper fennel seeds and add to the soup. Yummy Soup is ready!!!
Notes:
- Milk is added to give the soup thickness and enhance taste. You can skip or add according to your choice.
