RED SNAPPER FISH FRY RECIPE

Ingredients:
Red Snapper / Snakara - 1/2 kg
Fenugreek Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves - few
Shallots(Small Onion) - 12-15
Garlic - 8-10
Tomato - 1, deseeded, chopped roughly
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp
Coriander Powder - 2 tsp
Tamarind Thick Water - 3 tbsp
Water - 1 cup
Salt - to taste
Oil - for shallow frying
Marination for 10 minutes:
Red Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as required for each fish

Tamarind Thick Water - 3 tbsp

Oil - for shallow frying
Marination for 10 minutes:
Red Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - as required for each fish
Method of Preparation:
1. Clean and slit the fish pieces. Marinate the fishes for 10 minutes in the marination mixture.
2. In a mixing bowl, add tamarind water, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and water. Mix well. Heat oil in a pan, shallow fry the fish pieces on both sides for 1 minute in medium heat.
3. In a wide heavy bottomed pan, add the fish fried oil. Add mustard and curry leaves. Add small onions and garlic. Saute for few minutes till it turns translucent. Add tamarind mixture water prepared.
4. Once the curry comes to a boil and the fish curry starts reducing, reduce the heat and add fried fish pieces one by one. Let it cook for 5 minutes in medium flame.
Serve with hot rice and fish fry!!!

Notes:
- Don't over cook the fish while shallow frying, as it will break down.
- You can skip shallow frying the fish. But it will add more taste to the curry.
- You can also make fish pieces instead of using the whole fish.
- The consistency of the fish curry can be as per your preference.
The curry gets tastier as the resting period increases!!!
