Falooda is a very popular sweet beverage available in every shop these days in many variations. Each one has their own favourite versions, I prefer more nutty whereas my husband goes for the scoop of ice cream with falooda sev!!!
This special sweet beverage has vermicelli, sabja seeds, badam pisin, rose syrup, vanilla ice cream with fruits and nuts making this an tasty, healthy and a rice sweet!!!
FALOODA RECIPE

Ingredients:
Badam Pisin - few stones, soak in water
Sabja Seeds/ Falooda Seeds - soak required quantity in water
For one glass/serving:
Add in the order
Rose Syrup / Essence - 1 tbsp
Badam Pisin / Edible Gum- 1 tbsp
Sabja Seeds/ Falooda Seeds - 2 tsp
Chilled Milk - 2 tbsp
Vermicelli - 1 tbsp, cooked in milk
Dry Fruits - 1 tbsp, mixed (Almonds, Pista, Candied Papaya Fruits )
Vanilla Ice Cream - 1 scoop
Dry Fruits - few, finely chopped (Almonds, Pista, Cashew)
Add in the order
Rose Syrup / Essence - 1 tbsp
Badam Pisin / Edible Gum- 1 tbsp
Sabja Seeds/ Falooda Seeds - 2 tsp
Chilled Milk - 2 tbsp
Vermicelli - 1 tbsp, cooked in milk
Dry Fruits - 1 tbsp, mixed (Almonds, Pista, Candied Papaya Fruits )
Vanilla Ice Cream - 1 scoop
Dry Fruits - few, finely chopped (Almonds, Pista, Cashew)
Method of Preparation:
1. Soak badam pisin pearls in water overnight. It swells up and forms a jelly like substance in the morning. Soak sabja seeds / falooda seeds for 45 minutes or till they swell up. See about BADAM PISIN and SABJA SEEDS. Prepare the vermicelli: Dry roast the vermicelli in medium heat until golden brown. Then add milk and bring to a boil. Then let it cook in low/ medium heat till the vermicelli is cooked soft. Remove from heat and let it cool.
2. In a falooda glass or tall glass, add rose essence, badam pisin, sabja seeds, chilled milk with vermicelli cooked, add dry fruits, candied fruits, add a scoop of ice cream, add chopped nuts in the top.
Serve immediately!!!!

Notes:
- You can place a spoon in the glass, pour milk through it so it doesn't mix with the rose syrup.
- Variations are endless, you can add your favorite toppings and syrups.
- The vermicelli must be cooked according to the instructions in the pack. It should be cooked soft and loose. Overcooking will loose its texture.

ReplyDeleteYou can use any branded vermicelli. It also comes in packs as falooda sev with sabja seeds and jelly.
