Sweet Chaat Chutney Recipe | Khajur Imli Ki Chutney | Chaat Recipes

No chat item is complete without this sweet and sour chutney. Iron rich dates and jaggery makes it healthy too. It can be stored and used for making quick chaat's.

Dates - 1/2 cup, deseeded
Tamarind - 1 tbsp, deseeded
Jaggery - 1/4 cup, grated
Water - 3/4 cup
Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - as required


  • The chutney stays good when refrigerated. 
  • The pulp must be strained. 

Method of Preparation:

1. Pressure cook dates, jaggery and tamarind for 1 whistle and 5 minutes in simmer. Once the pressure is released, transfer to a food processor and blend to a fine paste. 
2. Strain the pulp through a strainer. Add water. In a pan, add the extracted tamarind water, cumin powder, red chilli powder and salt. Boil for a few minutes. Remove and cool. Store in an airtight container in fridge.
